John McLaren

(1884 – 1954)

John McLaren, author, was born in Fitzroy in 1884.   McLaren travelled the world extensively before settling in Northcote.  

He wrote a number of books including "Blood on the deck", "Red mountain", "My crowded solitude", "Sun man" and "A diver went down".
 
In 1925 he moved to London, where he was to live for the remainder of his life.
