Keith Street, Aplhington

Keith Street, Alphington first appears in the street directories in 1925. It was named after Keith Smith, who with his brother Ross and mechanics Jim Bennett and Walley Shiers, became the first men to fly from England to Australia. They arrived in Australia on 10th December 1919, the flight having taken 27 days.

The first residents in the street were James Cullen and Archibald Bullock.
