Between 2014 and 2018 Australia will commemorate the Anzac Centenary. Like most Australian towns, Northcote and Preston paid heavily in the battles of the First World War. Local historian Brian Membrey has conducted extensive research to present a comprehensive and intriguing record of hundreds of local service personnel who lost their lives during the conflict.
The Knockando farm was located on the corner of Heidelberg Road and Chandler Highway on what is currently the site of the Australian Paper Mills. It ceased to be known as Knockando farm in February 1869, when it became Woodlands Farm.
